Arts and Crafts rose cut diamond drops with solid gold highlights.
A very pretty pair of original Arts and Crafts earrings. Probably European. Circa 1900
These twinkling earrings are set with 8 rose-cut diamonds ea in a Silver surround and finished with an applied gold halo around the central diamond on the lower drop.
This drop is constructed in a wire and pierced teardrop shape and hangs freely from the foliate designed top.
This very cleverly allows for the gold to reflect and wash over the rest of the earring when moving. The lovely rose-cut diamonds sparkle and glint in the light.
Metal: Tests for Silver with a gold wash to the back of the earrings.
Stones : 16 rose cut diamonds. 2 x approximately 1.78 mm diameter 4 x 1.25 mm diameter . 6x 0.88mm diameter.
Length: from the top of the central diamond to the base of the teardrop (not including ear wire) 2.7cm
Total weight 4.6gm for the pair.
Condition: Very good condition commensurate with age.
