Early Victorian 18ct Gold Buckle Ring Hallmarked Newcastle 1855
A lovely example of early Victorian “sentimental jewellery”.
Buckle rings symbolism a strong and steadfast connection between the giver and the wearer.
This lovely piece is beautifully engraved with a scroll and floriate design and the buckle thread and tongue.
Metal: Hallmarked 18ct yellow gold with an essay stamp for Newcastle and a date stamp for 1855.
Weight: 6.1g. Flat tapered band 9.63mm at the front to 4.9mm at back.
Condition: Very good commiserate with age.
Some minor surface markings on the back and some rubbing on the side of the engraved design towards the rear.
Currently a large size at UK U or 10 1/2 US but can be sized to suit wearer.
