Victorian 15ct Yellow Gold and Citrine Insect Brooch .
A charming example of Victorian whimsy reflecting the fascination for Natural Science during this period.
This rather sweet insect has a beautifully rich, faceted golden citrine abdomen and a pale amethyst head.
The rest of the body is crafted from 15ct gold. The stones are claw set in a decorative mount.
The pin is in a spring hook and is in sound working order.
The brooch is in beautiful condition.
