A wonderful depiction of winged Cupid with his bow, quiver and arrows all hand-carved in relief in shell. Sardonyx shell.
Cupid or Eros, the messenger of love, is standing in a landscape of flowers.
This beautiful cameo is bezel set in a silver-gilt repoussé frame of elaborate scrolled flourishes.
There is a c-curl catch and pin stem on the verso.
This hand-carved cameo is antique, early 1800’s.
