Is it safe to buy online?
It is extremely safe. Bloomsbury Antiques uses Secure Socket Layering (SSL), the highest industry standard encryption technology.
It’s the system all the biggest and best on-line stores use. We do not store credit card details nor do we share any of our customer's information with any other party.
We only use customer email addresses if they have signed up for notifications.
Where do you get your stock?
We source our stock from many places and through several contacts in the UK and worldwide. We have built up these relationships over many years and they are a closely guarded trade secret!
How do you know how old it is?
After many years of trading and searching for Antique Jewellery we have become very aware of production methods and telltale signs of authentic versus reproduction jewellery.
We will clearly state to the best of our extensive knowledge whether something is Vintage Old or Antique style.
What condition are most of your jewellery pieces in?
We pride ourselves on selling high-quality pieces and will always mention or photograph defects if they exist.
We try not to sell anything that is damaged but some of this is commensurate with age and therefore not deemed to be detrimental to the piece although reflected in the price.
Will you hold an item?
Yes in consultation with Therese we can certainly hold an item for you for up to 72 hours.
Can I layby the items?
At Bloomsbury, we have always had a layby option and this is possible for some online customers after discussion with Therese.
We can arrange for regular payments to be made over a period of 3 months maximum.

Shipping
Do you insure your items?
Insurance can be arranged for an additional cost. The pieces are sent Express with signature on delivery to ensure safe passage.
How soon can I expect to receive my item after I’ve ordered it?
We will post within 1 day of the funds being cleared but
We do not post on the weekend.
How long does it take to send internationally?
International Shipping is currently suspended due to restrictions within the postal service. Sorry for any disappointment.
If it is not described accurately can I return it?
Yes in line with our returns policy an item can be returned if it has been incorrectly described
All shipping and insurance costs are to be covered by the sender.
