A wonderful spread of old-cut diamonds set in a slightly tapered London Bridge style.

The 5 claw set old Mine cut diamonds are mounted above scroll set shoulders.

The diamonds are set with 8 small points between the 5 larger ones. 
 
The ring was probably remade using the original design in London in 1971 resetting the original old-cut diamonds. 

It wasn't unusual for the setting on an old ring to be so worn that when handing it down the new owner would decide to have the stones reset using the original design.

I think this is true for this one. It provides the advantage of having a sturdy setting that will last but retains the charm of the old diamonds and the decorative bridge setting.
