An eye-catching pair of antique 15ct gold lovers knot and articulated torpedo drop earrings.

Below the gold ball mounted shepherd hook fittings are the rope twisted lovers knot with a central smaller golden ball.

The articulated torpedo drops are engraved with scroll work and plain band decoration.

The movement of the sections allows the earrings to gently sway and catch the light.

The “torpedos” are hollow so the weight is minimised to prevent ear drag and maximise comfort without compromising the visual impact.

In very good condition. Circa 1880

Length from base of hook to tip: 4.5 cm.

Total weight per earring: 1.6 gm.  Total 3.2 gm for both.
