A very pretty rose gold front and back oval locket engraved with swallows and floral swags.

This charming locket has the engraving on both sides. Three swallows on the front and two on the back.

The swallows traditionally herald the arrival of Spring in the Northern hemisphere, symbolise new beginnings and a bright future when incorporated in antique jewellery decoration.

The interior has a perspex covered picture space with the original frame in place.

 The hinges are sound and the locket closes securely with a plain bail at the top.

 The surface has some minimal surface markings, commensurate with age and gentle wear, which contribute to the pleasing antique “bloom” of the locket.No dents.
