An exquisitely pretty articulated Antique French brooch.

The movement of the bottom section enhances the pretty sparkle of the stones. The paste stones are mounted on a detailed silver frame that incorporates the typical Victorian bow and swallow themes.

A bow pinned near the heart conveyed that the wearer was in love.

It also represented the enduring love for a lost one on their passing.

The swallow, with its predictable migratory habit, represented faithfulness, loyalty and devotion.

The closed silver back has a firm and solid pin with a secure C shaped fastener.
