A very unusual and pretty French silver open locket with conves crystal panels and a hinged back. 

The interior is set with mother of Pearl. 

The edge decoration is comprised of natural split pearls and turquoise with a sash bow to the top to finish off the design. 

It's extremely good quality and has a great weight to it. 

In Victorian jewellery, turquoise combined with pearls usually suggested affectionate remembrance, constancy and protection—often a sentimental gift between lovers, friends or family, rather than automatically a mourning piece.

So this could well have been a love token and may have held the 2 lovers portraits.
