A pretty 9ct rose gold back and front heart locket engraved with floral sprays and swallows.

The swallow was a symbolic choice of decoration on jewellery of this era as, these birds that appeared at the beginning of Spring, were also used to represent new beginnings and happier times.

Two perspex picture frames with their original gold frames are revealed inside the locket.

The hinges are mechanically sound and the locket closes securely.

The back of the locket has the stamp for 9ct gold back and front.

The locket is topped with a decorative scrolled bale.

There is a minor dent on the back of the locket which is partially obscured by the engraved decoration.
