An exquisitely pretty set of turquoise paste and rock crystal earrings with a matching necklace in its original fitted red leather, tool worked box.

The popular Victorian “daisy theme” is clearly reflected in the design.

The articulate chain-link drop earrings have had a 9ct yellow gold screw fitting added at a later date to replace the original hooks.

The star embellished barrel clasp is in sound condition and indicates the likelihood of this set being French or Continental in origin.

The paste turquoise is of uniform colour and without all the matrices and imperfections of the natural stone. The facet cut rock crystals sparkle bright and clear.

The condition is very good commensurate with age.
