Early Victorian Rose Cut Diamond and Gold Antique Ring.
This is an early take on the classic daisy cluster. The rose cut floral diamond top has been set in silver with a closed-back setting, as was the practice of the Georgian and early Victorian period.
This enhanced the glow and subtle sparkle of the stones in the candlelight. The top has been mounted on a very pretty, decorative ball and scroll split shoulder and half round, a parallel plain band from a slightly later Victorian era.
A delightful combination ring in good condition.
Metal: Setting, under rail, shoulders are 18 ct yellow gold.
The half-round band is 9 ct yellow gold.
