A superb Deco diamante/ paste swallow brooch.

This statement piece of jewellery is skilfully constructed.

 The hand cut stones reflect the old cuts of the Victorian era and the detailed framework on the reverse indicates the quality of this brooch. 

The wing position of the bird creates an illusion of eternal flight.

The vibrant sparkle of the stones is enhanced by the open back setting. 

Sweet little green stone eyes are forward looking.

The swallow was a popular symbol used in Antique jewellery to represent happy times, joy and abundance as the appearance of swallows indicated the arrival of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

The roll covered clip for the pin is sound and secure.
