Antique 18ct Yellow Gold Ruby and Diamond Gypsy Band
A stylish and crisp example of an Antique gypsy ring.
The stones are set flush with the metal and only the crown of the stone is revealed.
Extra security is created by the addition of corner point rubbed claws.
This ring has relatively restrained linear banded decoration with a 3 point stamp at each end of the stones.
The stones were symbolic with diamonds being a fine, pure and lasting love whereas the ruby symbolised passion.
These rings were very popular in the Victorian Era
The tapered, half round band is stamped and hallmarked for 18ct gold Chester 1881.
In excellent Antique condition with the mellow bloom of age.
