Victorian rose cut diamond and garnet ring
An extremely pretty and dainty old cut diamond and pear-/heart shaped almandine garnet ring .
The pear-shaped garnet is milligrain set in silver, surrounded by 11 old cut diamonds below a floral,diamond-set tiara motif.
The ornate cutwork shoulder features a fleur-de-lys insert, adding to the credence that this lovely old ring is likely to be French in origin. Also that the pear-shaped stone refers to the heart and was perhaps given as a sign of affection or betrothal.
The delicate flat band is tapered and decorated with parallel lines. Condition: Good commensurate with age .

Metal: Tests for 14 k yellow gold.
Settings: Silver. Stones: 17 old cut diamonds ranging from a single point to 0.7mm diameter.
Pear-shaped Almandine garnet 5.7mm x 3.09mm at maximum.
