Early Victorian Rose Cut Diamond and Gold Antique Ring.
This is an early take on the classic daisy cluster.
The rose cut floral diamond top has been set in silver with a closed-back setting, as was the practice of the Georgian and early Victorian period.
This enhanced the glow and subtle sparkle of the stones in the candlelight.
Circa 1840
The diamonds are set onto a decorative ball and scroll split shoulder which would have been originally joined to a similar carat band.
At some point over its 180 odd year life, the band has probably worn very thin and been replaced with a 9ct one.
Metal: Setting, under rail, shoulders are 18 ct yellow gold.
The half-round band is 9 ct yellow gold.
