A lovely quality Antique shield shaped 18ct gold and bloodstone signet ring with a locket opening top.

The deep green red flecked blood stone is skilfully cut and set in a shield shaped mount.

A barely discernible hinge reveals the locket mechanism that opens to a cavity space for a special memento/keepsake or a more sinister purpose that also gave these pieces the name “ Poison Rings “. A discreet method of adding poison to a victims food without detection.

The initials HFL are engraved on the interior.

The striking and decorative shoulders are joined to a tapered flat band.

In excellent condition commensurate with age.
