1920's Carved resin faux Coral earrings
Carved faux coral resin earrings Circa 1920.On 9ct gold hooks.
Due to the popularity and expense of producing coral earrings in the Georgian and Victorian times a whole industry of 'faux' materials began so that more of the population could afford the look of these precious organic pieces.
The invention of resins and plastics paved the way for a whole industry of art costume jewellery to be produced. These are a fine example of carved resin used to simulate coral. They're a very good match and fun and wearable example of 1920s costume jewellery.
