Beautifully crafted French earrings stamped with the Eagles head mark for 18 carat gold.

These antique earrings are full of symbolism with a sinuous snake coiled around a central acanthus leaf. 

The snake or ouroboros represents eternity whilst the acanthus leaf design was symbolic of immortality a powerful combination.

The open backs are fitted with the secure continental hook fastenings.

 Relatively light weight, these earrings are extremely comfortable to wear.

There is also a makers mark D.F stamp.

In excellent Antique condition.
