A beautifully crafted Hallmarked sterling silver and paste brooch.

Clear hand cut colourless paste stones are combined with deep sapphire blue paste stones.

The reverse is  stamped with Hallmarks for London 1954 and HAL for the maker Harold Lazarus.

 Harold Lazarus  founded his jewellery manufacturing business in the early 1900’s. His speciality was high quality costume jewellery that emulated the fine jewels of the Georgian and Victorian periods.

His paste work was exceptional. He also developed a method for putting inclusions within the paste that resembled natural flaws to resemble genuine stones.

The underside of the blue paste stones is open to allow maximum light refraction enhancing the colour and glow of the deep blue paste. 

All fittings are original and in sound working order.

The brooch is in excellent condition. A stylish and highly collectible quality addition to any jewellery collection.
