A beautiful quality hard stone carved Carnelian cameo ring.

A notch above the more common carved shell cameos, this ring combines exquisite carving with skilled gold work.

The rich 18ct gold colour works well with the golden carnelian stone background that is revealed as the lighter stone surface is carved away.

The figure represented is the bust profile of a female wearing a ruffled gown with a  veiled head piece and drop earrings.

The triple split shoulders of the ring join a half round band.

In wonderful condition apart from a small hairline blemish that is only discernible with a backlight in place. 

Metal: Tests for 18ct gold.

Stone: Carved carnelian.

Dimensions: 2cm x 1.7cm.

Condition:small hairline in the cameo before setting which does not compromise the integrity of the ring.

Cant be seen without holding it to the light.
