This pretty little engraved silver whistle would have likely started life as a useful addition to a ladies Chatelaine belt amongst the other useful household items such as miniature scissors, penknives etc

Marked Sterling, it indicates the possibility that this was an American item. The bail has a sturdy jump ring attached allowing for the whistle to be worn as an interesting pendant or even used as a charm on a substantial silver charm bracelet.
