Large Antique Edwardian 9ct gold Keeper Ring.
An impressive Edwardian era 9ct rose gold keeper ring hallmarked for Chester 1904.
This style of ring with its plaited and woven surface, predates engagement rings.
It was originally used to keep valuable dress rings in place by sitting alongside to keep it in place.
It was also gifted at betrothal and symbolises that the recipient was worthy of “keeping".
The ring is in good condition with some minor surface wear that adds to its mellow appeal.
