Antique Silver and Gold Mizpah Brooch
A fabulous example of the very popular Victorian love token.
This double heart silver brooch bears the gold applied phrase Mizpah,a Hebrew word meaning watchtower.
The phrase associated with this jewellery is “May the Lord watch between and thee when we are absent from one another.
In this case, the phrase is actually engraved around the perimeter of the brooch. Silver balls add further decorative touches to this quality crafted brooch.
The gold-applied ivy leaves also symbolise fidelity and steadfast love.
The catch, pin and hinge are in excellent working condition.
