Victorian Japanese insect cufflinks
A unique pair of boxed hand made and signed lozenge-shaped insect cufflinks.
The surface is bone and the legs and antennae are carefully etched into the surface.
The insect's bodies are a natural material carved and inlaid, I suspect amber.
This pair is from the Meiji era using the Shibayama technique.
Signed by the artist. circa 1890
These would make a great wedding gift.
Metal: Bronze or similar with lozenge Length: 1.6cm
